Orange Sticky Chicken Slow Cooker
My mum bought me a slow-cooker for my
birthday and ever since its been so convenient for busy times in my life when I don't have enough time to cook homemade nutritious food while watching it. A slow cooker is convenience at its finest and by that I don't mean convenience food.
You literally chop everything up and throw it all in and leave it cook for 4 hours. There's 3 settings, low, medium and high. You can either cook the food for 2-3 hours on the high setting or 4-6 hours on the low setting. There's lots of freedom to leave the house and leave it cook away.
There is usually lots of portions left from this kind of a dinner if you buy the big size slow-cooker. I usually freeze a few portions in the freezer for the coming
week when I don't have time to make a nutritious dinner. Thats way your still getting good quality nutritious meals into your diet even when your on the go.
- 3 chicken fillets or 1kg of chicken diced into cubes -
- 100 mls chicken stock
- 50 g honey
- 50 mls meridian tamari
- 5 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 100 mls orange juice
- 2 Tbsp corn flour
- 1 inch of ginger cut into thin sticks of minced
- black pepper
- Scallions of sesame seeds to garnish
