I spent a lot of my childhood learning how to cook after school in my grandfathers kitchen who was a chef in the Royal Air Force Base, based in Germany. Its where my love for home cooking and food began. My food philosophy developed from here and it was very simple. Eat whole nutrient dense food and cooking from scratch is easy and enjoyable. Whilst what you eat is important, how you digest what you eat is more important.
My background is a degree and masters in Corporate Management and Corporate Governance which I completed at Waterford Institute of Technology, Waterford. Having also worked as an accountant and completed professional ACCA accountancy exams I felt that something was missing. The corporate world left a lot to be desired in terms of self care, proper diet and lifestyle. I was more or less confined to an office environment. This led me to go in search of more freedom and creativity at work and discovering what I was passionate about. With a lot of bumps along the way, I embarked upon a journey of deep self love and acceptance through discovery of holistic/alternative therapies.
Initially, essential oils and aromatherapy had fallen onto my path. I had trained in the raindrop technique, the emotional freedom technique and reflexology with medical grade Young Living essential oils with EU trainer Susan Neary from The Modern School of Ancient Therapies, UK. My eyes were opened to just how powerful these oils and their properties were for healing.
I graduated as a nutrition and lifestyle coach with The Institute of Health Sciences, Dublin and from there | developed my own range of cold-pressed juice blends scientifically developed to target optimal nutrition. I’m currently working on more healthy natural products to be added to my online shop. My cold pressed juice blends are also available on the neighbourfood.ie marketplace for local producers, run weekly by Grow HQ, Waterford. With a big interest in plant based diet, I then went on to complete a plant-based nutrition certificate with The T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, USA. I became so intrigued by juice therapy and its benefits after seeing how it improved the health of those around me that I trained to be become a natural juice therapist.
Throughout my 20s and up to now I had been a big fan of energy healing having trained intensively in kung fu, Chinese yoga and tai chi. I really wanted to integrate this into my food philosophy. I had become very interested in the physical and energetic properties of food through their colours and also the fact that the energy of the person preparing the food is essentially eaten and that becomes part of the energy of the receiver. Today, I’m currently training to become a qi gong teacher and look forward to holding classes in the future.
Specialising in juice therapy, plant-based diet, nutrient dense diet, food for mood, nutrition for deficiency, digestive health and relationship with food and weight loss, I work with each client to tailor a customised plan to suit individual needs. All nutrition and lifestyle plans are focused on sustainable long term results.
Whole Living Nutrition uses a hydraulic juice press. It’s the best juicer on the market for creating true cold-pressed juice. This press makes juice with the longest shelf life due to its minimal heat and oxidation. A hydraulic juice press is a two-stage juicer. It’s the one true juice press that makes the smoothest, best tasting juice you can make with the least amount of separation.
When you drink a cold-pressed juice you take in so much more vegetables and fruits than would be possible to consume normally. You get an optimal amount of fresh nutrient dense foods each day in your cold-pressed juice. For some people, parsley, celery or kale aren’t the easiest foods to consume on their own!!
